RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Edward LaPaille has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, Edward LaPaille was the loving and devoted husband of Dolores, nee Scanlon; and

 

WHEREAS, Edward LaPaille was the much-adored father of the Honorable Gary and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

 

WHEREAS, Edward LaPaille was a retired Engineer for the Chicago Department of Transportation; and

 

WHEREAS, An active participant in civic affairs, Edward LaPaille served for more than three decades as a Precinct Captain for the 13th Ward Regular Democratic Organization; and

 

WHEREAS, Edward LaPaille bravely served during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations and fought in the Philippines; and

 

WHEREAS, Edward LaPaille attained the rank of Vice Commander of the Clearing Post of the American Legion and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Edward LaPaille serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Edward LaPaille to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Edward LaPaille imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-ninth day of March,

 

 

2017, do hereby commemorate Edward LaPaille for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution
