RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of ninety-two; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander was the loving husband of Jeanne; and
WHEREAS, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander was the much-adored father of Rick, Marcie and Kim, the grandfather of four and the greatgrandfather of one to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Raised in La Grange, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander bravely served his country as a B-25 bomber pilot during World War II; and
WHEREAS, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander flew more than thirty missions over Europe; and
WHEREAS, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander received fighter protection from the Tuskegee Airmen while bombing munitions and manufacturing plants in Northern Italy; and
WHEREAS, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander married the former Jeanne, nee Overstolz, whom he met at a Phi Kappa Psi dance at the University of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Following the war, the Telanders raised their family in Peoria where Harry Richard "Dick" Telander and his in-laws founded the Coleman Oil company which supplied area industrial giants; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Harry Richard "Dick" Telander serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Harry Richard "Dick" Telander to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Harry Richard "Dick" Telander will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Harry Richard ."Dick" Telander imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
