RESOLUTION
WHEREAS. The Honorable John Cobb Williams has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 82; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Wilmette, the Honorable John Cobb Williams was the loving and devoted husband of the Honorable Virginia Blankenbakcr and the late Helen Grace: and
WHEREAS, The Honorable John Cobb Williams was the much-adored father of Holly. Nancy and Sarah, and step-father of Susan, Sharon, Betsy, David and Jim, to whom he imparted many ofthe fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Yale Law School, the Honorable John Cobb Williams was a specialist in trusts and estates at Sidley Austin LLP: and
WHEREAS, The Honorable John Cobb Williams was an active member of Glencoe Union Church; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable John Cobb Williams served on the Northbrook Village Board of Trustees for many years, including a four year term as Village President; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of John Cobb Williams serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared John Cobb Williams to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, John Cobb Williams imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we. the Mayor and (he members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of January, 2013, do hereby commemorate John Cobb Williams for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Cobb Williams.
