RESOLUTION HONORING CHERYL HILL-BEVERLY ON HER RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Cheryl Hill-Beverly is retiring from the Park Department after 40 years of dedicated public service; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council was made aware of this occasion by the Honorable Michael D. Rodriguez ofthe 22nd Ward; and
WHEREAS, Cheryl began her career in the Chicago Park District in 1982 as a teen youth counselor at Seward Park in the Cabrini Green neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, In 1985, Cheryl was promoted to physical instructor where she was assigned to various locations across the South and West sides, including Avalon, Bradley, Kensington, Wicker, Touhy-Herbert, Shedd, and Union Parks; and
WHEREAS, In her 40 years of service, Cheryl was promoted five times, from entry level camp counselor to park supervisor, ending her career at Leclaire-Hearst Park where she has spent 12 years implementing youth, teen, and senior programming; and
WHEREAS, On the occasion of her retirement, Cheryl can take pride in knowing that she achieved her goal: to offer affordable recreational programs and keep parks safe for the communities she served; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day ofthe twenty-sixth of October 2022 do hereby congratulate Ms. Cheryl Hill-Beverly on her retirement, and express heartfelt gratitude for her years of service; and
