AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF CITY LAND TO THE PUERTO RICAN CULTURAL CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a home rule unit of government by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970, and, as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the City has established the Community Development Commission ("CDC") to, among other things, designate redevelopment areas, approve redevelopment plans, and recommend the sale of parcels located in redevelopment areas, subject to the approval of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the City Council of the City (the "City Council") on March 10, 1999, and published at pages 90909-90926, inclusive, of the Journal of Proceedings of the City Council (the "Journal") for such date, the City Council approved a certain redevelopment plan (the "Redevelopment Plan") for the Greater Humboldt Park Redevelopment Area (the "Redevelopment Area") pursuant to Chapter 2-124-010 of the Municipal Code of the City, which Redevelopment Plan was subsequently amended pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the City Council on November 3, 1999 and published at pages 13967-13979, inclusive, of the Journal for such date; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the City Council on June 27, 2001, and published at pages 62056-62192, inclusive, of the Journal for such date, the City Council approved a certain redevelopment plan and project (the "TIF Plan") for the Humboldt...
