Retirement Resolution for Michelle Nolan
WHEREAS, Michelle Nolan, dedicated employee of the City of Chicago for over twenty years, will celebrate her retirement at the end of June, 2018; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been notified of this special occasion by the Honorable Michelle Harris, Alderman ofthe 8th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Michelle received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Illinois University in 1982. She completed the Lawyers Assistant Program and received a certificate in Paralegal Studies with a Specialty in Real Estate from Roosevelt University in 1994; and
WHEREAS, Prior to working with the City of Chicago in 1996, Michelle was a food inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture for ten years while attending Roosevelt. She also worked as a Loan Closer at Intercounty Title Insurance Company; and
WHEREAS, Michelle's career at the City of Chicago began in the Department of Law-Finance and Building and Land Use Divisions. She then transitioned to the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development as a staff assistant and for the past sixteen years has worked at the Chicago Department of Planning and Development as Coordinator of Economic Development; and
WHEREAS, Michelle has many interests outside of her career at the City of Chicago as she enjoys creative arts and photography. She also is known for her love of mentoring young women; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her various professional roles, Michelle Nolan has been a remarkably loyal and professional employee of the City of Chicago. She will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of working with her but will be remembered by her hard work and charismatic demeanor; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-seventh day of June, do hereby extend our heartfelt thanks to Michelle Nolan for her many years of service to the City and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
