MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Mon Lim Louie, born on October 12, 1927, was called by God to his eternal reward on July 4, 2011; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Mon Lim Louie, owner of Louie's Cantonese Cafe on Rush Street, was an active and vital member of his community. The loving husband of So (nee Ping); beloved father of Kevin; Gavin (Lisa) and Karen (Karl Emanuel) Louie; fond grandfather of Evan Louie and Avery Emanuel; beloved brother of Suqiong Lei, Kur Yum Lei and Wai Or Lei, Mon Lim Louie leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Mon Lim Louie will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-eighth of July 2011, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Mon Lim Louie and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mon Lim Louie.
