MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Marie Rothbauer, nee Stolfa, on September 28, 2013, at the age of eighty-six; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Marie, born on May 5, 1927, was the devoted wife of the late Raymond; loving mother of Lou Ann (Michael) Crowley; dear grandmother of Michael and Patrick Crowley; special sister of the late Alice (Rudy) Magna and Billy Stolfa; fond aunt of many; and dear friend of Gus Sundermeier. Marie leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Marie was an active and vital member of her community. She had been one of the original owners of Avenue Fashions dress shop, had devoted many years on the Board of Directors at Ravenswood Hospital and also loved animals; and
WHEREAS, Marie will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth day of November 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Marie Rothbauer and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marie Rothbauer as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
