RESOLUITON MEMORIALIZING THE LIFE OF ROBERT R. COTTEN


WHEREAS. In His infinite wisdom, God has granted eternal rest to Robert R. Cotten on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the age of thirty-five; and

WHEREAS, Robert R. Cotten started his life's journey on February 14, 1979. He was the loving son of Carrie and Robert L. Cotten. "Rob" as he was know affectionately by his family, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age, was baptized at St. Andrew Baptist Church, and participated joyously with the congregation; and

WHEREAS, He began his education at the Anderson Community Academy Elementary School and graduated from Lindblom Technical High School in 1997. On July 12, 2002 Rob and his high school sweetheart were united in marriage and to this blessed union four sons were born: and

WHEREAS, Robert R. Cotten was a dedicated mail clerk at Sidley Austin LLP Law Firm. He had a gift of bringing humor to any situation. He was an active and vital member of his family and community; and

WHEREAS, Robert R. Cotten's legacy is his family. He will always be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, friend and good neighbor to all, and a young man who enriched the lives of the young and the old; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman of the 15th Ward, has brought his passing to the attention of this august body; and

WHEREAS, Robert R. Cotten leaves to revere his memory his beloved wife. Andrea Cotten; four sons, Christian, Robert Jr., Amare and Anthony; mother, Carrie Cotten; grandmother, Ruth Elm; brothers, Rodney and Anthony; sisters, Kyla (Eric), Babette, Kimberly and TaWanna; eight nephews, seven nieces, in-laws, Ronnie and Stephanie Mayfield; a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and amazing friends. His grandparents Sam and Martha Cotten, and Charlie Elm preceded him in death; now; therefore,

WHEREAS, To his family and friends, Robert R. Cotten will be sorely missed and warmly remembered for his warmth, kindness a...
