MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called John J. Goetz to his eternal reward at the age of 80; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, John J. Goetz, Veteran ofthe Korean War with the United States Air Force, was an active and vital member of his community. The beloved husband of the late Rosalie; loving father of Larry (Vickie) Goetz and Christine (Dave) Dombeck; dear brother of Joseph Goetz, John J.Goetz leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, John J. Goetz will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth day of April, 2011, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of John J. Goetz and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John J. Goetz.
