RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Galasso has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 78; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Elgin, the Honorable Michael R. Galasso was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband of the late Joyce; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Galasso was the much-adored father of Mark, Keri and Kristen and the grandfather of ten to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Galasso was the dear brother of Nicholas, Lucille and Camille and the devoted finance of Sara Spitz; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Galasso enjoyed a long and highly successful career as a lawyer and jurist; and
WHEREAS, Raised on the Northwest Side, the Honorable Michael R. Galasso graduated from what is now IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Galasso was first appointed to serve as an Associate Judge in DuPage County in 1984 and went on to become Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations and Law Divisions and Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of DuPage County; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, the Honorable Michael R. Galasso spearheaded programs to require custody disputes to be resolved with the help of court-approved clinical psychologists; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Galasso served two years on the 2nd District Appellate Court before retiring from the bench; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Galasso joined the law firm of Schiller, DuCanto & Fleck LLP, where he expanded the firm's efforts to provide pro bono legal counsel to the poor; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Michael R. Galasso serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Michael R. Galasso to his fam...
