MEMORIAL RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND MEMORY OF MICHAEL HUDSON
WHEREAS, Michael Hudson beloved father, son, husband, and brother in Christ, died December 9, 2022; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of Michael's passing by the Honorable Stephanie D. Coleman, Alderman ofthe 16th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Michael was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1952, at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois to the union of the late Percy Hudson, Sr. and Marie Hudson; he was the tenth of eleven children; and
WHEREAS, Michael was a lifelong Chicago resident and received his formal education through Chicago Public Schools, graduating with the first class of Amos Alonzo Stagg Elementary School in 1968, before and graduating from Englewood High School in 1972; and
WHEREAS, Michael received Christ at the age of seven at Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of his late uncle, Rev. Robert L. Buckner; and
WHEREAS, A devoted member of the church, Michael participated in youth programs, sang in various choirs, worked with the ushers, and helped with custodial duties; and '
WHEREAS, Michael continued his devotion to the Lord during his 44 years as a loyal member of the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church, and was appointed to the Trustee Board and volunteered for the Sunday School bus ministry; in 1993, Michael was made a Deacon while maintaining his position on the Trustee Board; and
WHEREAS, Michael was later appointed to the position of Church Treasurer, spearheaded the building maintenance committee, supervised the church custodial staff, and coordinated the Sunday school breakfast program; and
WHEREAS, Michael was a hard worker outside ofthe church as well, working at Hobson Shoes while completing his secondary education following graduation, before becoming a salesman at Shelly's Loan Company for many years while also working at Dantley Steel; and
