SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Section 4-6-230 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored, as follows:

4-6-230 Booting of motor vehicles.

(g)     Prohibited acts. It shall be unlawful for any licensee engaged in the business of booting motor vehicles to:

(5)     engage in booting operations at any location that is outside the 1^st Ward, 12^th Ward, 15^th Ward, 21^st Ward, 22^nd Ward, 23^rd Ward, 25^th Ward, 26^th Ward, 27^th Ward, 30^lh Ward, 32^nd Ward, 33^rd Ward, 34^th Ward, 36^th Ward, 37^th Ward, 38^th Ward, 40^th Ward, 42^nd Ward, 43^rd Ward, 44^lh Ward, 46^th Ward, 48^,h Ward, or 49^th Ward.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

Your Committee on License and Consumer Protection, having under consideration a substitute ordinance introduced by Alderman George Cardenas (which was referred on March 13, 2013), amending the Municipal Code of Chicago by including the 12^th Ward in permitting the "booting" of vehicles on private property by private firms, begs leave to recommend that Your Honorable Body pass the substitute ordinance which is transmitted herewith.

This recommendation was concurred in by a viva voce vote of the members of the committee on April 3, 2013.
