RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at die age of 70; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Wheaton, the Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis was the loving husband of Lois, nee Brockhoff; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis was the dear brother of Georgia and the late Bettie; and
WHEREAS, Born in Chicago, the Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and Elmhurst College; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis was a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and continued to serve in the reserves until he retired in 1997 as a Major; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis enjoyed a long and successful sales career in the consumer electronics industry, including as a sales manager with Plantronics Corporation; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis was elected in 2001 to the Wheaton City Council and served his community for 12 years; and
WHEREAS, The hard work and dedication of the Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, the Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-second day of February, 2017, do hereby commemorate the Honorable Tom A. Mouhelis for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
