RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Shirley E. Connors has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, A woman of dignity, grace and charm, Shirley E. Connors, nee Shinnick, was the loving wife of the late James; and

 

WHEREAS, The much-adored matriarch of her family, Shirley E. Connors was the beloved mother of Noreen, the Honorable Maureen, Colleen and the late Francis, the grandmother of six, the great-grandmother of six and step-grandmother; and

 

WHEREAS, Shirley E. Connors was the loving daughter of the late Mary and George and the dear sister of Donald, Robert and the late George; and

 

WHEREAS, Shirley E. Connors served for forty years as the Secretary of Nativity of Our Lord Church in the Bridgeport community; and

 

WHEREAS, Shirley E. Connors was the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Shirley E. Connors serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Shirley E. Connors to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

WHEREAS, Shirley E. Connors was an individual of remarkable goodness and kindness toward others who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and

 

WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Shirley E. Connors imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-fourth day of September 2015, do hereby commemorate Shirley E. Connors for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and

 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
