RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 59; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Northbrook, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz was a widely admired member of the Hasidic-Jewish community and the loving husband of Esther; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz was the much-adored father of nine children to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, A native of the North Side, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz studied the Talmud and Torah at Jewish institutions in Brooklyn, Montreal and France before returning to Chicago where he helped to open synagogues; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz served as the Regional Director of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Under the leadership and guidance of Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz, Lubavitch Chabad expanded to nearly 40 centers in 21 cities in Illinois; and '

WHEREAS, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz devoted much of his time to traveling across the state to oversee the centers which include schools and provide services for seniors and students with special needs; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz was a prominent and inspirational leader in the International Conference of Chabad Emissaries; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz often met with Illinois mayors, governors and senators and attended menorah presentations at the White House during every administration since President Ronald Reagan; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
