TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF MRS. MARY SMITH
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called His precious daughter, Mrs. Mary Smith home to her eternal reward, Tuesday, February 3, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This honorable body has been informed of her transition by the esteemed Alderman of the 8th Ward, Michelle A. Harris; and
WHEREAS, Mary, the loving daughter of Delia Daniels and Edward Bandy was born February 17, 1936 in our great city of Chicago. She received her education through the Chicago School System. Mary graduated from Phillips High School and continued to work for the Chicago Public School System as a food service sanitation manager; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mary Smith accepted and rejoiced in God and her faith carried her through the trials and tribulations of life. She was a faithful and vital member of the Apostolic Church of God; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mary Smith will be greatly missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those whose life she touched in countless ways; and
WHEREAS, The Eighth Ward has suffered greatly with the death of such an outstanding citizen and vital member of her community. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her: her beloved husband of 49 years Tommie Smith; her loving children, Doran, Sr. and Patricia Mc Spadden (Ed); her grandchildren, Delia Williams (Tony), Doran, Jr., Miranda, Felicia, TaNisha, Christopher, Jason, Jon Jon (preceded her in death) Juaun, Danielle, GiGi, Isaiah and Ronnie; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mae Catherine Williams, two nieces, Lois Williams and Dr. Angela Scott-Strauther (Darryl); her nephew, Rodryck and a host of other relatives and many friends; now, therefore,
