MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR COLETTE McBARRON
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the May 22, 2016 death of Colette McBarron; and
WHEREAS, Colette's death leaves her friends and devoted family with a profound sense of loss and sadness. The beloved mother of Joan Lundholm (John), Charles (Jeanne), and John and, dear grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of three, she leaves a legacy of compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Chicago's Convent of the Sacred Heart and Barat College, Colette spent 29 years as a Chicago Public School teacher, educating and touching the lives of children in some of the city's poorest neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Colette was known for her intellect, wit, and for clever turns of phrase often tinged with sarcasm, a trait she passed on to her children; and
WHEREAS, Colette McBarron will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-second day of June, 2016, do hereby commemorate Colette McBarron and do hereby extend our sincere condolences to her family and friends; and
