RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Stella Michalik, a longtime resident of the Southwest Side, will celebrate the joyful occasion of her Ninetieth Birthday on June 2, 2013; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Stella Michalak was born June 2, 1923, the second child of Joseph and Mary Michalak; and
WHEREAS, Before moving to Orland Park, Stella Michalik lived in the same home on West 53rd Street in Chicago's 14th Ward for sixty years where she was an active member of St. Simon's Parish; and
WHEREAS, Stella Michalik was a dedicated worker in a number of jobs before she joined with her sister and brother-in-law to work at MidCo Inc. where she ran the front office for more than forty years; and
WHEREAS, Stella Michalik is an avid Chicago White Sox Fan and enjoys discussing game strategy with her nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Stella Michalik is a longtime and valued member of the Polish National Alliance and for many years volunteered at the Moose Lodge where she helped to serve up the organization's Fish Fry every Friday; and
WHEREAS, Neighbors and friends of Stella Michalik will join with her family members in a special celebration of her birthday; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of March, 2013, do hereby congratulate Stella Michalik on the occasion of her Ninetieth Birthday and do hereby declare that June 2, 2013 shall be officially recognized as Stella Michalik Day throughout the City of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Thai a suitable copy of this resolution be presented
