RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Andrea Gibson, a widely admired City of Chicago budget planner, has been named by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle to serve as County Budget Director; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this appointment by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Andrea Gibson brings to Cook County a wealth of practical knowledge about government and budgeting; and
WHEREAS, Since 2007, Andrea Gibson served as First Deputy Budget Director for the City of Chicago's in the Office of Budget and Management; and
WHEREAS, Andrea Gibson previously served as Deputy Budget Director in the City of Chicago's Office of Budget and Management and as Assistant Budget Director, as well as a Program Director/Assistant to the Commissioner in the City's Department of Streets and Sanitation; and
WHEREAS, In her new role, Andrea Gibson Gibson will serve in an influential role as the County continues to restructure the way it develops and presents the annual budget; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Andrea Gibson serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourth day of May, 2011, do hereby congratulate Andrea Gibson on her new position and do hereby express our sincere gratitude for her many important contributions on behalf of the people of the City of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Andrea Gibson.
