ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Section 4-244-140 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the language underscored, as follows:

4-244-140 Prohibited districts.

(a)     No one having a peddler's license shall peddle any merchandise or any other article or thing whatsoever, at any time, within districts which have been or shall be hereafter designated by the City Council. A description of such districts shall be kept in the office of the City Clerk.

(1)     Peddling is prohibited on both sides of North Milwaukee Avenue, between North Kedzie Avenue and West Belmont Avenue and on intersecting streets between North Kedzie Avenue and West Belmont Avenue within 100 feet of the closest right-of- way line of North Milwaukee Avenue.

(29)    Peddling is prohibited in the following areas: On Archer Avenue, from Kedzie Avenue to Richmond Street: On 47^th Street, from Albany Avenue to Loomis Street: On California Avenue, from 42^nd Street to 46^th Street: On California Avenue, from 55^th Street to 56^th Street: On 43^rd Street, from Kedzie Avenue to Western Boulevard: On the south side only of 43^rd Street, from Wolcott Avenue to Ashland Avenue: On Ashland Avenue, from 43^rd Street to 46^th Street: On 51^st Street, from Western Boulevard to Winchester Avenue: On Damen Avenue, from 47^th Street to 50^th Street: On 55^th Street, from California Avenue to Western Avenue; On Garfield Boulevard, from Western Boulevard to Paulina Street; On 59^th Street, from Hamilton Avenue to Ashland Avenue; and on Western Avenue, from 43^rd Street to 56^th Street.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
