CONGRATUALTIONS EXTENDED TO MARY FAITH FLAHIVE ON HER RETIREMENT FROM THE CHICAGO PARK DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Mary Faith Flahive has retired from her position as Park Supervisor after twenty five years of service with the Chicago Park District; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this occasion by Alderman Margaret Laurino, 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Mary Faith began her career with the Chicago Park District in 1989, proudly serving Chicagoans, while raising a family of her own; and
WHEREAS, She was fortunate, due to her hard work and dedication, to work as Instructor at Chippewa Park, Gladstone Park and Rosedale Park; and
WHEREAS, Mary Faith was promoted to Park Supervisor of Indian Road Park in 2004, where she stayed until her retirement, touching the lives of thousands of children and families in the City of Chicago. Her success with the Chicago Park District can be attributed to her ability to communicate and develop relationships with all relevant parties, most important of which are park patrons (the children), community leaders, and elected officials within the communities she served; and
WHEREAS, After retiring, Mary Faith is now an official Chicago Park District Volunteer; and
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed to Mary Faith Flahive on twenty-five years of service with the Chicago Park District; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered here this twenty-fourth day of September, 2015 do hereby express our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Mary Faith Flahive as she retires and we extend to this fine citizen our very best wishes for continuing success and fulfillment; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Mary Faith Flahive.
