MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Marilyn C. DeStefano, nee Bardwell, at the age of eighty-eight; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39lh Ward; and
WHEREAS, born on April 9, 1927, Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J.; loving mother of Thomas J. (Sarah Bickel), Mary Beth, Joseph M. (Candace Hrones), Bryan R. and the late James W. DeStefano; dear grandmother of Bryant, Lindsey, Jessica and Roxanne; cherished great-grandmother of Leo and Inara; treasured sister of Paul, Frank and the late Harry Bardwell; and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Marilyn leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, Marilyn touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this sixth day of May 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Marilyn C. DeStefano and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marilyn C. DeStefano as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
