CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO POLICE OFFICER DIANE MASON ON RETIREMENT
FROM THE CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Police Officer Diane Mason, Star #12727, is congratulated in honor of her retirement from the Chicago Police Department following thirty-two years of dedicated public service and as a valued member ofthe 6th District; and
WHEREAS, The City of Chicago has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Derrick Curtis, Alderman ofthe 18th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Officer Mason has devoted her work over these past many years to fulfill on the motto of the Chicago Police Department - "We Serve and Protect"; and
WHEREAS, Officer Mason's dedication and commitment to her duty as a public servant has contributed to ensuring that the City of Chicago is a safe, healthy and vibrant place for all who live and visit here; and
WHEREAS, Officer Mason upheld the finest traditions of the law enforcement: community throughout her tenure earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and the people she served; and
WHEREAS, Officer Mason's history of service exacts substantial physical and emotional toll not only on the officers like herself, who must daily cope with the stress and danger of being life's arbitrator for countless citizens, but also on family members; and
WHEREAS, That we, as leaders of this great City of Chicago, are deeply cognizant of the great debt owed our public servants, and extend our sincerest gratitude for the long and prolific career of Officer Mason; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 12th day of December, 2018, do hereby commend Officer Diane Mason for her faithful duty and express our most heartfelt wishes for a pleasant retirement; and
