RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE 69™ BIRTHDAY OF PASTOR APOSTLE DEREK BANKS
WHEREAS, Pastor Apostle Derek Banks, an outstanding spiritual leader and member of his community, is celebrating his 69th Birthday and is Pastor of True Word Outreach Ministries; and
WHEREAS, This honorable body has been informed of the wonderful occasion for Pastor Apostle Derek Banks by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 37th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Our great City of Chicago is enriched by the presence and inspiring influence of great religious leaders as Pastor Apostle Derek Banks, who was called to the west side of Chicago in 1988, to preach the gospel and opened his first location on 37th South Ashland in the Union Hall, where he preached and as God instructed and in three years the church moved to 1059 N. Pulaski, unshaken by gangsters and drug dealers he prayed for them; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Apostle Derek Banks, main purpose was to preach Gods words and caring for his members to make sure they had adequate transportation and services, feeding the homeless and being available to those in need in the Church and the Community; and
WHEREAS, In 1991 the church relocated to 5707 W. Division and Pastor Apostle Derek Banks continues to the work on the mission given to him by God, he is a faithful minister and spiritual leader, a man of great compassion and humbleness; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this Sixth day of September, 2017, do hereby extend our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to Pastor Apostle Derek Banks as he celebrates his 69th Birthday, and express to this outstanding citizen and leader our fervent wishes for his continuing success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Pastor Apostle Derek Banks.
