RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Andrew Berghoff has gone to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Born on September 30, 1999 in San Francisco, Andrew Berghoff was the loving and devoted son of Paul and Lisa; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Berghoff was the dear brother of Matthew, Eric and Luke; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Berghoff was the much-adored grandson of Paul and Loretto Berghoff and Mary Dalton; and
WHEREAS, Despite the health challenges of his short life, Andrew Berghoff filled every moment with humor, compassion and enthusiasm for the world around him; and
WHEREAS, Known for his bright and engaging smile, Andrew Berghoff loved Notre Dame College Prep where he was a Burke scholar and a student manager of the hockey team; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Berghoff was an ice skating guard at public skate times in Wilmette; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Berghoff worked at the Queen of All Saints rectory where his duties included assisting in food preparation though he himself had a feeding tube his whole life; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Andrew Berghoff to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Andrew Berghoff imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-ninth day of March, 2017, do hereby commemorate Andrew Berghoff for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
