Whereas, The members of this Chamber were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lillie Bolton an outstanding citizen of the Austin community in Chicago, Lillie Bolton finished her race as a strong Christian and women of faith and has received her crown of righteousness.

Whereas, Lillie Bolton was born in Chicago, IL. on June 30, 1939 to Glayds Veal. Lillie married John Wesley Bolton in 1959 and to this union, three children was born, Belinda Bolton-White, Brenda Blackmon and John Wesley Bolton Jr. She was especially proud of her two grandchildren, Loni Noelle Blackmon and Isaiah Wesley Bolton whom she loved to kiss, hug and buy gifts for.

Whereas, Lillie's Christian faith and zest for life was unstoppable. She was baptized at a young age and loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for over 30 years and served on the Church Board of Directors as Secretary. She was an active choir member and served the community as a Block Club President, a Beat Facilitator in the 15th Police District.

Whereas, In 1991 at the age of 53, she went back to college and graduated from Roosevelt University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration. Lillie's most recent work position was as Payroll Manager at Roosevelt University. She retired in sixties and enjoyed exploring life's adventures.

Whereas, Lillie's earthly journey ended on August 25, 2015. She is an angel who will be truly missed. Her heart was so big it had room for everyone she crossed paths with. Her love is instilled in the hearts of many and her memory will live forever.

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled the twenty fourth day of September, 2015, do hereby applaud exceptional efforts on the behalf of the citizens of Chicago; and
