At the request of the Commissioner of Fleet and Facility Management, I transmit herewith ordinances authorizing the execution of lease agreements.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago (the "City") is a home rule unit of government by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970, and as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the Chicago Park District (the "Park District") is a body politic and corporate organized and existing under the Chicago Park District Act, 70 ILCS 1505/0.01 seq., with authority to exercise control over and supervise the operation of all parks within the corporate limits of the City; and
WHEREAS, Indian Ridge Marsh is a wetland nature area that consists of approximately 140 acres bounded by 116th Street on the north, Torrence Avenue on the east, 124th Street on the south, and Yates Avenue on the west, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois ("Indian Ridge Marsh"); and '<
WHEREAS, the Park District and the City are committed to the restoration and operation of Indian Ridge Marsh as a wetland nature preserve, and desire to work together to achieve these mutual goals; and
WHEREAS, the City is the owner of approximately 1,200 lots within Indian Ridge Marsh (the "Premises"), which constitutes the majority of Indian Ridge Marsh; and
WHEREAS, by ordinance adopted on June 30, 2010, and published at pages 95102-95135 in the Journal of the Proceedings of the City Council of the City of Chicago (the "Journal") of such date, the City Council authorized the execution of an intergovernmental agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chicago District for certain ecosystem restoration work at...
