WHEREAS, Jean M. Parker, an outstanding public servant and member of his community, retires as an officer of the Chicago Police Department after twenty-six years of dedicated service to the people of this city; and
WHEREAS, Jean served with distinction and dedication in the 006th District. Officer Parker was awarded fifteen Honorable Mentions, two Complimentary Letters, one Democratic Convention Ribbon and one Crime Reduction Ribbon; and
WHEREAS, The police have the very essential job of ensuring the safety and order of their community. This sworn officer has an important role in protecting lives and property, maintaining order and enforcing all laws accurately; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman of the 18th Ward, has apprised this august body of Jean Parker's significant milestone; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this twenty sixth day of November, 2013 A.D., do hereby salute Jean Parker for his many years of dedicated service to the safety of this city and extend our very best wishes for health, happiness, and success in any future endeavor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Jean M. Parker.
