Declaration of November 22, 2014 as "LeeAnn Cali Day" in Chicago
WHEREAS, LeeAnn Cali is a proud second generation Italian-American who grew up surrounded by family in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali began her career after graduating from the Rutherford Metropolitan Business College in Dallas; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali has been married to Vito P. Cali since 1960; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali is the proud mother of three, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of two; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali has held family dear and is passionate about the respectful care given to older generations; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali fulfilled her dream to create a community-based residential facility that treats the elderly with love and dignity in a home-like atmosphere; and
 
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali and Mr. Cali converted their Delevan, Wisconsin property into the highly praised Vintage on the Ponds retirement facility in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali was recognized for her thoughtful work with the elderly by being appointed Commissioner for the Health and Human Services Commission on Aging in Walworth County; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali was instrumental in the creation of the Walworth County Community Based Residential Facility Network; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali has spent decades championing the compassionate and respectful care of the elderly and the rights of families;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cali has been recognized by the Italian American Executives of Transportation with their 2014 Humanitarian Award;
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this tenth day of December 2014 A.D., do hereby recognize November 22,2014 as "LeeAnn Cali Day" in Chicago in honor of her faithful service to family, our elders and the greater community; and .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Mrs. Cali.
