RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called William Arundel to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman of the 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, William Arundel, age 94, was born in Ahakista, Bantry Bay, County Cork, Ireland. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, retired Local 399 Engineer at DePaul University Lincoln Park Campus. Beloved husband of the late Ann Arundel, nee Lavin. Loving father of Margaret, Patrick (Jeanine), James, and Brian (Amy). Dear grandfather of Timmy, Melissa, Katelyn, Camryn, Michael, Emily, Jack, Mary Kate, Sean and Colleen. Great-grandfather of Kellan. Dear brother of Frank (Agnes), late Chris (late Marge), late Joe (Bea), late Paddy (late Peggy), late Tom (late Chris), and late Pete (late Helen). Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and
WHERAS, William Arundel leaves a legacy of faith, dignity, compassion and love; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this twenty-fourth day of May 2023, hereby express our sorrow on the death of William Arundel and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy be presented to the family of William Arundel.
