RESOLUTION CELEBRATING DIANE HENTON'S 70TH BIRTHDAY

WHEREAS, Diane Henton, mother, educator, mentor, and 16th Ward resident, celebrates her 70th season in 2022; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this joyous occasion by the Honorable Stephanie D. Coleman, Alderman ofthe 16th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Diane is a native Westside Chicagoan; Diane was educated at Daniel Webster Grade School and attended Josephina High School before graduating from Roosevelt University with her Bachelor's degree in 1976; and

WHEREAS, Diane followed her calling and received her Masters in Social Work from Governors State University, and after 30 years, retired as a social worker; Diane served as Senior Vice President of Central Baptist Foster Care; and

WHEREAS, Diane's commitment to her community did not stop at her profession; Diane also served as the Finance Secretary at Prince of Peace Church of God in Christ, as co-creator of a GED Program and Daughters of Sarah Young Women's Group Outreach Community Church of God in Christ; and

WHEREAS, Diane is an educator, mentor, counselor, prayer warrior and soloist, but above all she is a mother, sister, aunt, and friend; and

WHEREAS, The 16th Ward is grateful for its senior community and hopes Diane will continue to share her experiences and provide her wisdom to us all; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twentieth day of July, 2022, do hereby congratulate Diane Henton on her 70th season, and wish her continued happiness, prosperity, and success in all of her future endeavors; and
