MEMORIAL RESOLUTION \
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Florencio "Loy" Mutuc, on June 22, 2015, at the age of sixty-eight; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, born on May 22, 1947, in the Philippines, Loy was the beloved husband of Remedios, nee Masangkay; loving father of Hilario (Grace) Mutuc, Josephine (Edgar) Gever, Jose Florencio (Susan) Mutuc, Anthony Mutuc (Kathy Espada, Fiancee) and Mark Anthony Mutuc; cherished grandfather of Joyceann Simmons and Joss, Nathaniel and Juliana Mutuc; dearest brother of Ernesto (Nannette) Mutuc, Jose (Elizabeth) Mutuc, Bernadette (Charlie) Saquido and Yoland (Mark) Barquez; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Loy leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of his community, Loy touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-ninth day of July, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Florencio "Loy" Mutuc and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Florencio "Loy" Mutuc as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
