RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Vikki Tulcus has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 43;and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her untimely passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Vikki Tulcus was the loving and devoted fiancee of Dan Lietz; and
WHEREAS, Vikki Tulcus was the cherished sister of Steve and Scott; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Westmont, Illinois, Vikki Tulcus first became involved in fostering awareness ofthe importance of organ and tissue donation while working for the nonprofit organization Gift of Hope; and
WHEREAS, In 2007 Vikki Tulcus began working tor the Illinois Secretary of State's office, appearing at churches, community colleges and public events to educate people about the need to sign up as registered organ and tissue donors; and
WHEREAS, A dynamic and eloquent speaker, Vikki Tulcus made a passionate and convincing case for the organ and tissue donation program; and
WHEREAS, Even when she needed a new kidney herself as a result of suffering from a rare auto-immune disorder, Vikki Tulcus remained upbeat and positive about her future; and
WHEREAS, The indomitable spirit, sacrifice and dedication of Vikki Tulcus serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Vikki Tulcus to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Vikki Tulcus imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of January, 2013, do hereby commemorate Vikki Tulcus for her grace-tilled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vikki Tulcus.
