MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Allen Joseph Hayes, on February 1, 2016, at the age of sixty-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Bom on March 20, 1950, Allen was the loving son of the late Joseph and Lillian Hayes; dear brother of Maryann (Jerry) Garstka and the late Jeffrey (Carol) Hayes; longtime companion of Darlene "D.D." Clothier; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Allen leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Allen worked for the City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation for twenty years, in addition to being a dedicated Precinct Captain with the 39th Ward Regular Democratic Organization. He touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit and will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this tenth day of February, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Allen Joseph Hayes and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Allen Joseph Hayes as a token of our honor, gratitude,-and respect.
