RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Sister Mary Ann Casey will celebrate the joyful occasion of her 50th Jubilee on July 10, 2016; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Visitation Parish in Chicago, Sister Mary Ann Casey is the daughter of the late John and Bridget, nee Conoboy; and
WHEREAS, Sister Mary Ann Casey joined the Sinsinawa Dominican congregation and adopted the religious name of Sister Marie Miguel; and
WHEREAS, During her religious life, Sister Mary Ann Casey ministered in Wisconsin, Illinois and New York where she was an educator and administrator; and
WHEREAS, Additionally, Sister Mary Ann Casey worked in the Archdiocese of Chicago in initial membership ministry and was Convocation Director for the congregation; and
WHEREAS, Since 2002 Sister Mary Ann Casey has been Director of Religious Education at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Wilmette; and
WHEREAS, The faith, commitment and dedication of Sister Mary Ann Casey serve as an example to all; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-second day of June, 2016, do hereby congratulate Sister Mary Ann Casey on the occasion of her 50th Jubilee and do hereby extend our best wishes for her continued service and good health to the religious community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Sister Mary Ann Casey.
