RESOLUTION HONORING MARY VEGA ON HER OUTSTADING COMMITMENT TO UNIVERSITY VILLAGE & COMMONS COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Mary Vega is being honored at UIC for her outstanding commitment to the betterment of University Village and Commons Communities; and
WHEREAS, Mary Vega grew up in the Chinatown/Bridgeport area, attended Santa Lucia grade school and Holy Name Cathedral High School. Mary became a resident of University Village 13 years ago when she moved to the community in December 2002; and
WHEREAS, Along with her role as President of University Village Condo Association, Mary is also on the Board of the University Village Master's Homeowner's Association and a member of the UV Neighborhood Association; and
WHEREAS, Mary has been the CAPS Facilitator for Beat 1232 for approximately 10 years and a member of CPD 12th District Advisory Committee and an influential factor in the decision making of UIC police sergeants; and
WHEREAS, Mary Vega is an avid Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks and Bears fan; and
WHEREAS, Mary will be honored by her community, friends, and family the UIC basketball game on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the UIC Pavilion; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Mary Vega on her commitment to her communities with best wishes for continued success in all of her future endeavors; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be made ^va+lable for Mary Vega.
