RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Battalion Chief EMT Peter Biondo has officially announced his retirement from the Chicago Fire Department following more than three decades of dedicated public service; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Peter Biondo began his career on February 20, 1980, and in 1987 was assigned to serve as an Engineer; and
WHEREAS, Peter Biondo continued to rise through the ranks and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1998 and Captain in 2003; and
WHEREAS, Peter Biondo became a Battalion Chief in 2007 and Battalion Chief EMT in 2009; and
WHEREAS, Peter Biondo ably served in a number of assignments throughout his long and illustrious career, including Engine 5, District 1 Relief, Engine 30, District 1 Relief, Truck 2, Engine 64, Operations Relief and Battalion 15; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his long and illustrious career, Peter Biondo upheld the finest and most noble traditions of public service; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Peter Biondo serve as an example to all; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of January, 2013, do hereby express our sincere gratitude to Peter Biondo for his many years of faithful service to the City of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Peter Biondo.
