Memorial Resolution
WHEREAS, God, in His infinite wisdom and judgment, has called His child Richard Anderson Jackson to his eternal reward on September 30, 2014; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been notified of Richard Jackson's transition by the Honorable Alderman Anthony Beale, of the 9th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on November 19, 1972 to Earnestine A. Ware and Merlon M. Jackson, Richard was blessed with a magnetic smile, and lived his life with infectious passion; and
WHEREAS, Richard possessed talents for the arts and music. His education was earned from Bloom Trail High School and his studies at Purdue University in Hammond, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, Faith and family were of great importance to Richard, as he was baptized at the age of nine. He loved his parents, and always expressed that love in words and actions. Earnestine and Merlon loved him back. Love was not a secret in the family, but a gift to share with each other; and
WHEREAS, Richard lived in Chicago for the last few weeks of his life, a treasured period of time that Richard often spent working alongside his father at Christ Community Church, and enjoying-life with his dog, Rusty; and
WHEREAS, Richard is survived by his mother Earnestine A. "Tina" Ware and his father Merlon Jackson, and a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifth day of November, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Richard Anderson Jackson and extend to his family and friends our sincere condolences; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Richard Anderson Jackson.
