WHEREAS, Ray Rubio, born as Ramon Gonzalez Hernandez in Barrio Canabtffipito in~ ^t ,
Caguas, Puerto Rico, has led a noteworthy life; and, p. lb ^
WHEREAS, At the age of eight, Ray Rubio started playing the guitar, and by the^tjjme h©/vas thirteen years old, he was singing and playing in a rock and roll band called GruporOro; gfld,
WHEREAS, At seventeen, Ray Rubio moved to New York, where he joined another band, and within two years after arriving, at the age of nineteen, he began working as a radio announcer with his own show called "El Show de Ray Rubio"; and,
WHEREAS, During the year of 1975, Ray Rubio moved to Chicago and was hired as a radio announcer. While in Chicago, he started his acting career in telenovelas, and recorded his first album as a singer. In 1980, he won first place at a singing festival in the Midwest; and,
WHEREAS, Ray Rubio moved back to Puerto Rico where he began working as a radio announcer, and as an actor in soap operas for the Telemundo network. During the six years he spent in Puerto Rico, he recorded another album and created a Spanish rock band, while attending college to study musical theater. He graduated and worked as an actor in Bellas Artes theater; and,
WHEREAS, In 1987, Ray Rubio moved back to Chicago and began working for Telemundo. During the next two decades, Ray was involved in many endeavors; becoming a licensed real estate agent and investor, working with Univision Television, hosting his own show for television, opened a restaurant and nightclub in Wicker Park called Chacharcha, and worked as an actor in three different movies, including the film, "8 of Diamonds." In 2008, he became the general manager of a marketing and advertising company in Chicago, and in 2013, re-entered local television with a talk show; and,
