RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, Louis Kahnweiler has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 97; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

 

WHEREAS, A resident of Lake Forest, Louis Kahnweiler was a widely admired member of the business community and the loving husband for 69 years of the late Ruth, nee Markus; and

 

WHEREAS, Louis Kahnweiler was the much-adored father of Nancy, William and Kathy and the grandfather of five and the great-grandfather of two to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

 

WHEREAS, Louis Kahnweiler was the founder of Bennett & Kahnweiler, an industrial real estate company that pioneered the development of industrial parks across the nation; and

 

WHEREAS, Louis Kahnweiler served as the President of District 108 School Board in Highland Park and was on the Board of Directors of Highland Park Hospital, Exchange National Bank of Chicago and Roosevelt University; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Louis Kahnweiler serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Louis Kahnweiler to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Louis Kahnweiler imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this nineteenth day of April, 2017, do hereby commemorate Louis Kahnweiler for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis Kahnweiler.
