MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR THOMAS E. HERGENROTHER
WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the death of Thomas E. Hergenrother, on February 1, 2019, at the age eighty-seven; and
WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Thomas, born on August 21, 1931, led a full and accomplished life with his beloved wife of fifty seven years, Emily, nee Janovics, by his side. They were blessed with three beautiful children. Thomas leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Thomas leaves to cherish his memory: his adoring wife, Emily; loving children, Janine (Robert) Moore, Tom (JoAnn) Hergenrother, and Eileen (John) Duban; precious grandchildren, Robert, Thomas, Matthew, Amanda, Haley, Jennifer, and Noah; sister, Patricia (the late Don) Hammer; his many nieces and nephews; and, a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, the late William (the late Cathy) Hergenrother; and
WHEREAS, Thomas was a consistent source of inspiration to his loved ones. And while he will be deeply missed, his compassionate and caring nature will live on in those who knew and loved him; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and Members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, assembled this thirteenth day of March, 2019, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Thomas E. Hergenrother; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas E. Hergenrother as a sign of our utmost sympathy and respect.
