RESOLUTION

 

 

WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called Douglas M. Carlson to his eternal reward; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman of the 13th Ward; and

 

WHEREAS, Douglas M. Carlson, 66, died peacefully in his sleep on September 8, 2018, at home in Glen Ellyn, IL. Doug was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on February 29, 1952 to the late Allen M. Carlson and Shirley McPherson Carlson of Elmhurst and Willowbrook, IL. He is preceded in death by his father and mother; and his sister, Sue Ellen Tarantello. Doug is survived by his wife of ten years, Bernice Moody; son, Ryan (Alissa) of Chicago; son, Kevin (Beth) of Chicago; sister, Kimberly (Larry Shatuck) of Friday Harbor, WA; one granddaughter, Amelia; and one grandson, Eli; stepsons Joel Moody, Bill (Victoria) Caponigro; stepdaughter, Hannah Moody; and two step grandchildren, Isabella and Mason.

WHERAS, Doug graduated from York Community High School in 1970. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 673. At the time of his death, Doug had been working for S. Schroeder Trucking Inc. for 32 years. Douglas M. Carlson leaves a legacy of faith, dignity, compassion, dedication and love; now,

therefore,

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this twentieth day of September 2018, hereby express our sorrow on the death of Douglas M. Carlson and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy.
