Ladies and Gentlemen:
At the request of the Commissioner of Housing and Economic Development, I transmit herewith ordinances authorizing the sale of the city-owned property.
Your favorable consideration of these ordinances will be appreciated.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City"), acting through its Department of Housing and Economic Development ("DHED"), is the owner of the vacant parcel of property located at 8754 S. Houston Avenue, and which is legally described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto ("Property").
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 13-045-21 adopted on July 18, 2013, by the Plan Commission of the City of Chicago (the "Commission"), the Commission approved the sale of the Property through a sealed bid auction; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Article 11, Section 76 of the Illinois Municipal Code, the Commissioner of DHED caused to be published notice advertising the City's intent to sell the Property through a sealed bid auction and such advertisements appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, a newspaper of general circulation, on May 10, 2013, on May 17, 2013 and on May 24, 2013; and
WHEREAS, DHED opened the sealed bid received in response to aforesaid public notice at a public meeting before a certified court reporter and has recommended that the sealed bid of Hudson Funeral Home Ltd., the sole and highest bidder, be accepted by the City Council; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby accepts the bid of Hudson Funeral Home Ltd., with a principal place of business located at 8745-47 S. Commercial Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, 60617, ("Grantee"), and approves the sale of the Property to the Grantee in the amount of Two Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-Seven and 53/00 Dollars ($2,657.53).
