RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf was the former Mayor of Round Lake Beach and the loving husband for 64 years of Yvonne, nee Lux; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf was the much-adored father of Martin, Karen and Koral, the grandfather of 10 and the great-grandfather of 14 to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf was the dear brother of Richard; and
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, the Honorable Carl Schrimpf was raised on the North Side until his family moved to Glenview; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf graduated from Niles Township High School and attended trade school; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf worked for more than 30 years as a design engineer for Hough-International Harvester; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf moved to Round Lake Beach in the early 1950s where he became actively involved in local politics; and
WHEREAS, During his twenty-year tenure as the Mayor of Round Lake Beach, the Honorable Carl Schrimpf spearheaded efforts to bring Lake Michigan water to his community and a Metra stop on the North Central commuter line; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carl Schrimpf was a faithful parishioner and choir member of St. Bede Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Carl Schrimpf serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Carl Schrimpf to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
