RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, John F. Mahoney, Sr. has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 84; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, John F. Mahoney, Sr., Beloved husband of the late Betty M. "Betty Boop" Mahoney. Devoted father of John Jr. (Lydia), Donald (late Kathleen), Michael (Patrice) Mahoney; and
WHEREAS, John F. Mahoney, Sr., Dearest grandfather of Christina, Paul - Staff Sgt. United States Army (Diana), Meghan (William) Miller, Sgt. Sean Mahoney - United States Marine Corps. (Krystin) Mahoney. Great-grandfather of 8. Cherished son of the late Daniel (late Margaret nee Ahern) Mahoney. Loving brother of Daniel (late Eileen), Kathryn (late James) Hawes, Thomas (Beatrice) Mahoney. Fond Uncle of many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, John F. Mahoney, Sr. was a Member of FLAGS Club, Member Madonna Council - Knights of Columbus, Strong supporter of St. Gabriel Parish; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared John F. Mahoney, Sr. to his family members, friends, and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twentieth day of September 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of John F. Mahoney, Sr. and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy;' and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John F. Mahoney, Sr.
