MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF NANCY B. HOPKINS
WHEREAS, Nancy B. Hopkins, beloved sister, mother, and friend, departed this life on May 24, 2021, at 63-years-old; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of Nancy's passing by the Honorable Derrick G. Curtis, Alderman ofthe 18th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Nancy was born in Macon, Mississippi on March 23, 1958, to the late John Raymond Hopkins and Fannie B. Hopkins; and
WHEREAS, Nancy graduated from BF Liddel High School in 1976, and moved to Chicago in 1979; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Capri Beauty College, Nancy worked for Hinshaw and Culbertson for 16 years before leaving and opening her own daycare, A Touch of Love Day Care, in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Nancy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age in her home in the state of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Nancy departed this life surrounded by her family and is preceded in death by her parents, John Raymond and Fannie B. Hopkins; sisters, Lady Hopkins, Callie Hightower, Rosie Brewer, and Lorene Hopkins; and brothers, Bennie Hopkins, James Hopkins, and Lawrence "Eddie" Hopkins; and
WHEREAS, Nancy leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, Anton Hopkins, Antonio Hopkins, and Derrick Hopkins; her foster daughter, Miracle Veal; sisters, Kelly Loyatt, Brenda (Greg) McCoy of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mildred Andrews of Chicago, Illinois, and Linda West of Kansas City, Missouri; brother, John Hopkins of St. Paul, Minnesota; lifelong friend of over 40 years, Leonard Whopper and father of Anton; three best friends, Gloria Acoff, Carol Huckleby, and Anita Ternoir; nephew, John Clark; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; and N
WHEREAS, Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her; now, therefore
