CELEBRATION OF THE EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL KOREAN STREET
FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, The eighteenth annual Korean Street Festival is being hosted by the Chicago Korean American Chamber of Commerce, the Korean Festival Planning Committee and the City of Chicago on Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11, 2013;
WHEREAS, The City of Chicago has been informed of this special occasion by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward: and
WHEREAS, Created by the Chicago Korean American Chamber of Commerce in order to develop and promote local Korean businesses by presenting diverse traditional and contemporary events, the festival attracts well over fifty thousand visitors; and
WHEREAS, As the largest and more authentic ethnic festivals in the City of Chicago, the Chicago Korean Street Festival provides and opportunity for festival visitors to experience all that Korea has to offer in our city, including great Korean food, music, traditional dancing and Korean wrestling, as well as other stunning events; and
WHEREAS, The long history of Chicago as a city of immigrants, embracing the cultural celebrations that express the vibrant nature of our great city makes the leaders of the great City of Chicago very proud: now therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-sixth day of June, 2013, do hereby extend our best wishes to the Korean American Chamber of Commerce and the Korean Festival Planning Committee, for the success of Chicago's Eighteenth Annual Korean Street Festival: and
