RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING THE FIVE FALLEN MARINES OF THE PURPLE FOX
FAMILY
WHEREAS, On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, five members of the United States Marine Corps tragically lost their lives while training when their aircraft crashed near the town of Glamis, California; and
WHEREAS, They were based at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton and part of the Purple Fox Family; and
WHEREAS, The Marines varied in their years of service from 19 months to nearly nine years, and all received the National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; and
WHEREAS, We honor Pilot, Captain John J. Sax; Pilot, Corporal Nathan E. Carlson; Crew Chief, Captain Nicholas P. Losapio; Crew Chief, Corporal Seth D. Rasmuson; and Crew Chief, Lance Corporal Evan A. Strickland; and
WHEREAS, The Nation mourns the loss of the five fallen Marines for their selflessness defense and commitment to protecting our freedom; and, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here on this 22nd Day of June 2022, do hereby honor the five fallen Marines for their service and bravery; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That we, extend our sincere condolences to their family and loved ones during this tragic and difficult time.
