SALUTING THE SILVER JUBILEE OF DICK'S LAST RESORT
WHEREAS, For the last quarter century, Dick's Last Resort, self-proclaimed as "the joint yer mama warned you about", has always been a place to let your hair down, throw back a cold one and grab some of the best grub in this city; and
WHEREAS, Dick's Last Resort is famous for its outrageous and surly wait-staff who inflict their oddball brand of humor on the patrons, making everyone feel like they're breaking all the rules and getting away with it. Dick's Last Resort is also famous as the place with a bad attitude but a big heart and has been deeply committed to supporting the men and women in the military as well as children's charities; and
WHEREAS, From food donations to hosting benefit events, it is estimated that Dick's Last Resort has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to various charities over the years, including such events as the 18th Police District Annual Christmas Party for Underprivileged Children, Chicago Wing Madness, Easter Seals, Starlight Children's Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation, Helmets to Hardhats, Achilles Team, Wounded Warrior Foundation, Lambs Farm, Friends of the River, I am Who I am, Heart of the Marines, Toys for Tots, Chicago Legal Clinic, Shaare Zedek Hospital, Shake the Boot as well as such civic events as the Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Saint Patrick's Day celebration and the Gay Pride
Parade; and
WHEREAS, In true Dick's Resort fashion, they will be celebrating their 25 Anniversary with a blowout that will benefit The Starlight Children's Foundation Midwest featuring a Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament refereed by WPWR's television personality Erich "Mancow" Muller who hosts a two-hour morning show, "The Mancow Experience", and Aly Bockler who hosts "On the Block with Aly Bockler", a segment of "You & Me This Morning" also a two hour morning television show at "The U" (WCIU); and
WHEREAS, The Starlight Children's Foundation Midwest helps seriously ill children and ...
